Actually drinks should be on me, thanks guys.
I think I'll try the Behringer just to get my feet wet with these processors. Maybe by the time I've built up the system I've in the works, the dsp will be that much better. Thanks again for comments and opinions, etc!!!

Excellent point OG, I'm gonna try another Behringer after hearing that!
BTW on a more serious note, i saw in a thread on another site, that i'm of course now unable to locate, that there is a means by which to use the 3rd input channel as a mic input and the processor has the ability to "pink" the room much the same as our dbx 260 does.
I could find nothing in the manual to support this claim.
However the english version manual for the behringer is rather small and general in content. My time with the behringer was rather limited, and based on my experience with one other behringer piece of equipment (a 20x4x2 mixer with a very sweet preamp section), i'm willing to give the DCX another try. I'm anxious to do an amatuer A/B comparison with the dbx.

That one I can't answer off the top of my head-mine isn't hooked up right now it's back in the box.
I do know there is a way to to auto EQ, and it will set the delays for you automatically. I did it with a preamp into my laptop. You can then "tweak" the settings done by the auto function.
I think it was Bfish who recommended an ART preamp that only cost like $60 or so that had Phantom power? Hopefully he'll read this.
I don't think the inputs on the DCX have phantom, so you'd need that pre. I have a USB pre I paid way too much for...
I will ask a couple fellows more experienced than I about this- give me a couple days. Also have the email address for Chris Gomez, Behr's tech support head for the US if you want it. He's a top sausage.
BTW when you get it all set up check out the Animusic DVD for demo. Also very good is Blue Man Group's Into the Tube. This assumes it's all hooked to your home theatre. Nice high tech stuff good for showing off to your friends.

Thanks OG, I'll keep an eye out. BTW there are 2 animusic dvd's now, love them both, the blue men too. Animusic 2 has been my demo source when people want to hear my big system until the late june flooding. I lost my JBL SR4719's among too much other stuff to mention. I'm afraid it just won't be the same until i replace the subs.

Yeah, OG, I'm still using the ART Micromix to interface my soundcard to a phantom condenser, no complaints yet. Details were in this thread;

Thanks Bfish! If he wants to do PC control he'll need that or a USB preamp.
For Bowtie- the spec sheet says yes input C can be used as a Mic input with phantom. Also the manual quotes that in the specs. A quick skim of the manual left me clueless how to do it.
There are guys with lots of experience on these at alt.audio.pro.live-sound. Or as I say I can dig up Chris Gomez email for you- I'm at home and it's at work.

Thanks bfish and OG, I'm sure i have an old akg or shure phantom supply, finding it will be another matter.
It'll be a while yet before i can get another dcx in my hands, but definitely by the time the snow starts falling here. I think this thread will be archived? if not i'm sure another post at the time should yield some good hints from you guys. Thanks again
